GreenStack is a revolutionary indoor gardening solution designed to make home gardening accessible to everyone. It integrates modular, stackable designs with smart technology for automated temperature, humidity, and watering control, ensuring an effortless gardening experience. GreenStack caters to urban dwellers, gardening enthusiasts, chefs, and interior designers, helping them grow fresh produce sustainably, even with limited space or time.

Problem Solved

GreenStack addresses key challenges in indoor gardening:

  • Personalization: Difficulty in customizing gardens for rented or limited spaces.

  • Plant Growth: Challenges with insufficient sunlight and unsuitable indoor conditions.

  • Maintenance: High time and effort required to maintain plants.

  • Budget Constraints: Limited affordability for accessible gardening systems.

  • Structural Issues: Mold and damage caused by water leakage from traditional gardening setups.

Process

  1. Research and Insights:

    • Conducted interviews and surveys with 37 participants, including chefs, busy professionals, renters, and interior designers, to understand their gardening challenges.

    • Identified unmet needs through insights and "How Might We" (HMW) statements to guide solution development.




  2. Concept Development:

    • Utilized brainstorming techniques like Round Robin to generate innovative solutions.

    • Designed modular systems with smart features, including climate control and automated watering.

  3. Prototyping and Testing:

    • Developed three prototypes and tested them with users to refine the design.

    • Addressed feedback on stackability, structural stability, and ease of assembly.



  4. Final Design:

    • Selected the final prototype featuring a modular, scalable structure with enhanced stability, intuitive controls, and an integrated mobile app for monitoring and control.
